Every morning when I leave my house I run into common makeup mistakes women make with their cosmetics. Here is the most popular. Where do you fall victim?

It does not take a rocket scientist to do good makeup. But it does take some knowledge and some practice. Here are a list of the top makeup mistakes I see and how to fix them.

Foundation Mask:

I would say this is the most common mistake I see on a regular basis. It is hard to find the perfect shade for foundation but not impossible. Please take the time and maybe the cost to get the perfect match. Wearing foundation that is not the right shade will accent any lines, wrinkles, or other flaws you may have.

Miss use of eyeliner:

Do you want droopy dog eyes? I don't think so. But if you are being a hound dog for Halloween and you want to keep the makeup simple, just put eyeliner on the bottom lashes. When you put eyeliner just on the bottom lashes of the eye it will cause the eye to look droopy. If you want to wear eyeliner on the bottom, always wear it on the top as well. You can wear eyeliner on the top and not the bottom but if you are going to wear it on the bottom, you have to wear it on the top too.

This is the one that can absolutely drive me crazy. If I am talking to someone wearing their eyeliner just on the bottom lashes I either have to tell them the correct way or walk away. I just can't take it!

Visible lip liner:

First off, not every woman needs lip liner. Lip liner will help keep your lipstick on and it is great if you need to "build" your lips, but not a necessity for every woman on the planet. If you do happen to be a strong advocate for lip liner, make sure it matches. There are two shades that will work: one that matches your lipstick or one that is a shade darker then your natural lip color. Either one will work for you and make your lips look perfect.

Too dark of lipstick for skin tone:

It amazes me how many Caucasian women wear dark brown or dark red lipsticks. I'm not saying those are bad colors on the right people. But if you have a light skin tone and/or thin lips and/or a little older, you should never wear dark lipstick.

The attack of the eyebrows:

Eyebrows really help express who we are and how we feel. But a majority of women have the wrong shape. Contact a local salon to receive some help. Have them show you how to maintain and fill in with the proper color.

White Raccoon eyes:

Many of us fall victim of

dark circles under our eyes. I happen to be one of them, thanks genetics! There are proper ways to conceal under the eyes that will not cause you to look like you are wearing a white mask.

Blush, where do I go and what do I do?:

There are so many issues we fall guilty of with blush. Sometimes it is not the right color, or we place it in the wrong area, even not wearing any blush is a big no-no. If you are not sure of how to use blush get a great bronzer like

Mary Kay's Bronze Highlighting Powder or Victoria Secret's Sunny Cheeks Mosaic Bronzing Powder.

Remember makeup should be fun and help enhance your natural beauty. By practicing the proper techniques and remembering some of the most popular mistakes you might be guilty of, you will begin to feel more confident with cosmetics and with your appearance.
