Arbonne: Makeup Foundation Review
With three formulas, Arbonne International has a foundation to help you conceal skin imperfections and even skin tone.
Arbonne International has three makeup foundation formulas: About Face Luminous Colour Wand, About Face Line Defiance Makeup and About Face Mineral Powder Foundation.
Each foundation formula created by Arbonne is for all skin types and has some form of sunscreen protection. The Colour Wand and Defiance Makeup both have SPF 8 and the Mineral Powder has SPF 15.
According to the American Cancer Society, having a sunscreen in the foundation is not the best option. You should be using a product (moisturizer with SPF or sunscreen) prior to applying foundation. So don't make that a selling point for purchasing foundation. And remember to always wear a sunscreen prior to applying foundation, even if your foundation has a sunscreen in it.
I was able to try all three formulas; the following is my opinion of each one.
- About Face Luminous Colour Wand SPF 8: This is a cream foundation, supposedly for all skin types. I would never recommend a cream foundation for anyone with combination or oily skin. But if you have normal or dry skin, you will probably like this foundation. It gave good coverage and lasted most of the day.
- About Face Line Defiance Makeup SPF 8: This is a liquid foundation and it will work for all skin types. I honestly LOVED this foundation. First off, it lasted all day but it never looked like I was wearing makeup. It was very natural, didn't seep into pores or built up in fine lines. It was a sad day when my little sample of it all dried up. I was very impressed with the results from this foundation. Oh yeah, it also covered all my skin imperfections too without looking cakey!
- About Face Mineral Powder Foundation SPF 15: This foundation left me with mixed emotions. For me it went on very shiny and I don't like that look! It didn't really cover any skin imperfections but it has light feel. If you have very few skin imperfections you would probably like this foundation. For me, I prefer something with better coverage that last all day. I did like this foundation better when I applied a light layer of powder over it to dull down the shine.
Because everyone has a different result in mind for foundation, Arbonne is a good choice to give you those options.
