Jennifer, I honestly have never tried a spray on tan. But I've been told the best ones are when you get a person to spray the tan on you. I've heard a lot of complaints about the booths that spray. (There is a really funny FRIENDS episode on that very subject...it's hilarious!) I must admit I have been tempted to try the Neutragena Spray but am a little scared. Maybe something to try over the weekend so I can stay locked in the house for a couple of days and let it where off if it doesn't work. Let me know what you think if you brave it...

Hi Jennifer: I have used the Neutrogena spray on tan for a couple of years now. It works quite well....no streaking & not orange as it builds up slowly. Wash your hands with soap immediately after use and you'll not have orange hands. I started using it after a friend told me about it. I have very white shins & they just don't tan so this product was perfect. Just be careful around the ankle area so you don't get a lot of build up of product or that can look orange.-- posted by ragdoll50

I must be the only one who hasn't had success with those gradual build-up tans. Mine streaked just as much as a regular sunless tanner. I'm using the towelettes now, and they're tricky too, but I feel like I have better control somehow.

Trevy...do you exfoliate before you use the sunless tanner? When I use the sunless tan lotion I mix it with regular lotion, that always helped me get it on correctly. I haven't had any problems with the gradual tans so I can't help you with that one....sorry!

Just a suggestion that I literally fell across in the drugstore.Sally Hansen makes a "Spray On Tan for Legs" and one for the face.
I use the one for legs. There are several 'tan' colors to chose from. Application couldn't be easier.
First and most important step; in the shower or bath, exfoliate legs, knees, tops of feet and toes, EVERYWHERE that you are going to spray the 'tanning spray'. Use one of the granular exfoliants on the market and do a thorough job.
Shake the can really well and put down a large OLD towel, stand on it and start to spray your legs in a methodical fashion. Before this product dries you may use your hands to make sure it looks even and well distributed.
Once this product dries (in a rather short time) you may dress (per instructions on the product) and unless you wash it off with SOAP AND WATER, it will stay on until you take it off.
I have been using it for the last 3 weeks and it has worked beautifully for me. I told my neighbor about it and she has had the same results. Who would think Sally Henson from the drugstore would give such great results.
Further, I use the Neutrogena Spray and the Bronzer Foam for 'self tanning' and yes, application is tricky and can be streaky if you are not careful; again, make sure to exfoliate WELL first.
