» kimmyjay1999 - Makeup Brush Hair Breakage

I bought a powder brush at sephora about a year ago and lately the bristles have been breaking. After use I end up with all thise little hairs on my face that I have to pick off. Does anyone know what causes this and how to prevent it? Also, can anyone recommend a good brand for makeup brushes?

There are probably a couple different reasons why the bristles are breaking. First of all, breakage is bound to happen occasionally. How often are you cleaning your brushes? My guess is you are either cleaning it too much or not enough. For more information on cleaning your brushes: http://cosmetics.suite101.com/article.cf... Also your brushes may be poor quality. There are many types and kinds of brushes available.

Top quality makeup brushes are the way to go. They can cost quite a bit of money but well worth the price. I would recommend brushes by Japonesque, www.japonesque.com and Robert Jones, who is a makeup artist, http://www.simplebeaute.com/ .

Hope that helps!
